Moscow in Muskegon

Wow! We had our end of the season gala tonight for the Muskegon Symphony and well WOW is about all i can say! Yuri (cant spell his last name) from Moscow performed tonight, he is suppose to be the greatest pianist in the world and well, I would have to agree. We weren't able to photograph him while playing, but i didn't want to drag along my camera anyway. However we did take some really fun shots of us, me my husband and very good friend Bruce and Lanelle. We played in the backyard before we left. We really did have a great time and it was a beautiful evening and everyone who attended was equally as beautiful! I rarely pose for the camera and Jim really wants some pictures of me so i really got into it! What fun, it has been like forever since I just let it go and played for the camera! They are kinda funny and if you would have been there you woulda been cracking up!

First...i really want to apologize for just disappearing so to speak. We undertook a huge house remodel and i was swamped. Along with photography, i also love carpentry! So out came my miter, jig and table saws! We are almost finished and i will show some pics.

Now on with life...I met with stephanie and Mike almost a year ago and just fell in love with them. If you ever wanted and dream bride and groom and family this is defiantly it! They are wonderful, this wedding was so awesome and went off perfectly. i would guess about now they are on their way to mexico where i hope they have a fantastic time!

we made it back from florida and i finished editing my favorite pictures, or at least some of them. the first one i turned into an oil painting, i am so in love with it. it reminds me of a very special person and so i named it after her. i still havent unpacked, it usually takes me a month! i hate unpacking its so depressing especially since its snowing again.

marie selby gardens

we went to see all the orchids yesterday and wow! what a fantastic garden, the whole thing sits right on the bay. the butterfly garden wa vaccant, sadly for me. i am using jim's laptop and there is no photoshop on board but there is a neat little dell program which i had fun with last night using the boarders and frames. i put them on the pics below!

this is by far my favorite! this will hang in my home, somewhere!

Just a few

Here are  couple shots so far on the trip. The weather is awesome! Sarasota is like 45 minutes from Tampa, which is where the 2008 PPA convention will be! Jim has been wearing the t-shirt they gave away by the pool. People are asking what it is..lol I took some cool shots this morning of orchids and other flowers. I will try to upload them tonight!

AIRPORT SECURITY

WHAT A JOKE

So we left yesterday out of Grand Rapids, MI to what I thought would be a quick run through security! But well nope not gonna happen! I guess I look like a terrorist, whatever that is! I had my camera bag and my purse, my husband had my other carry on full of my cosmetics, mac, chanel, perfumes etc. Remember just a couple of weeks ago we flew through the same airport to go to Texas and no problems at all. Okay, anyway the security dumb ass went through my stuff and was freaking out about my liquids and gels (my lip glosses, perfumes and eye creams!)

I was only allowed to bring what would fit into a 1 quart ziplock bag. Needless to say it wouldnt all fit. He was really harassing me to the point i started to cry! I was treated in an unbelievable way! All the while safely, in my Chanel purse was; 2 lighters, 2 eye creams, 1 bottle of chanel parfume, 1 lipgloss and visine! Never was my purse searched at all! I successfully got on the plane with the real threat of 2 lighters! Do i feel safer knowing security actually cares about mac and chanel cosmetics? NO NO NO NO NO NO

How stupid are they? Obviously this was personal, because why would he care about my make up and not a lighter, well 2 of them? I am writing letters and making calls to my Governor, senators, reps all the papers in michigan and Bill Oreilly!

How long do we as Americans have to have our rights violated because of a president who could care less about us, the little people! I am so sick of this shit, and stories like mine! enough is enough!

GOTTA GET OUT

I have to go find some fun in the SUN! It is so cold here and seriously I have a major case of cabin fever! So, Jim and I are taking off on Sunday to head for Sarasota. I am praying for warm, warm, warm weather, no rain and just fun! I will be posting while I'm there, hopefully some cool shots. We are looking for a house as well so I will post the ones we like!

Basketball and my Son!

Here are some recent pictures from Christopher's basketball game. He really loves this and football. I must say he excels at both sports and I am very pleased with him! This was a tough game, they went into overtime, sadly we lost! But it was a blast! The refs totally sucked. They made some really BAD calls and they are the reson we lost.
